You are not permitted to publish, manipulate, distribute or otherwise reproduce, in any format, any of the content or copies of the content supplied to you or which appears on this Website nor may you use any such content in connection with any business or commercial enterprise. You shall not modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or create derivative works based on any software or accompanying documentation supplied by Cotton and Chintz Ltd. or its licensors.

5. Terms of Sale

By placing an order you are offering to purchase a product on and subject to the following terms and conditions. All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price.

Dispatch times may vary according to availability and any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are limited to mainland UK and subject to any delays resulting from postal delays or force majeure for which we will not be responsible. Please see our Delivery information page for further details.

In order to contract with Cotton and Chintz Ltd. you must be over 18 years of age and possess a valid credit or debit card issued by a bank acceptable to us. Cotton and Chintz Ltd. retains the right to refuse any request made by you. If your order is accepted we will inform you by email and we will confirm the identity of the party which you have contracted with. This will usually be Cotton and Chintz Ltd. When placing an order you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorised user of the credit or debit card used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods. All prices advertised are subject to such changes.

a) Our Contract

When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order: this email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order. A contract between us will not be formed until we send you confirmation by e-mail that the goods which you ordered have been dispatched to you. Only those goods listed in the confirmation e-mail sent at the time of dispatch will be included in the contract formed.

b) Pricing and Availability

Whilst we try and ensure that all details, descriptions and prices which appear on this Website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of any goods which you have ordered we will inform you of this as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.

All prices are inclusive of VAT. Delivery costs will be charged in addition; such additional charges are clearly displayed where applicable and included in the ‘Total Cost’.

c) Payment

Payment can be made via paypal at the online store but we also accept the following: Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, UK Maestro and MasterCard via telephone orders. We are unable to accept payment by cheque, cash or postal orders.

Please make sure that you provide the cardholder’s name and billing address exactly as it appears on the card statement. Please note if you have paid with your debit or credit card you will only be charged once the goods have been despatched to the delivery address.

All prices are inclusive of VAT (where applicable) at the UK rate. The total cost of the order is the price of the products ordered plus the delivery charge.

Upon receiving your order we carry out a standard pre-authorisation check on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds to fulfil the transaction. Goods will not be dispatched until this pre-authorisation check has been completed. Your card will be debited once the order has been accepted.

d) Order Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your order you can do so by confirming to us in writing that you wish to cancel your order. This can be by email or post. Your right to cancel an order ends 7 working days after the day on which you sign to accept delivery of your order. If you cancel your order within this time we will reimburse you the cost of post and packaging for returning your order. We will refund a cancelled order within 30 days of receiving notification, in writing of your wish to cancel.

e) Offers and Promotions

Offers and promotions are not valid in conjunction with any other offers, discounts or sale products unless they specifically state otherwise. Where an offer is for a specific brand and/or product these are not interchangeable. Where an offer or promotion states it is online only then it is not valid for use as part of a purchase in a Cotton and Chintz Ltd.shop or for orders placed over the telephone. Discount codes may, from time to time be offered to account holders; such codes may only be applied to purchases made through the account in respect of which the discount code was offered and registered. Discount codes cannot be applied to orders already placed.

f) Delivery

Please note however that we can only deliver to customers within the UK and Northern Ireland. Once your order has been despatched we are unable to change a delivery address. Please allow an extra working day for deliveries over UK Bank Holidays.

We process online orders Monday to Friday (10:00am – 17:00pm). Orders received before 1pm (Monday to Friday) will be dealt with that working day. Orders received after post-1pm (Monday to Friday) will be dealt with the following working day. Orders received on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays will be dealt with the following working day.

On rare occasions, some items may be delivered outside the published timed windows.

Made to measure items take up to eight weeks to deliver from the date you place your order. We will keep you fully informed of delivery times on this service.

g) Returns and Refunds

We hope you’ll be happy with your purchase. If however, you do wish to return or exchange an item purchased from Cotton and Chintz Ltd you can do this within 7 days of receipt of your order (beginning the day after you receive your order). The product must be returned unused and in the original packaging and postage should be paid by the customer unless goods are damaged or faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights. Please note the original delivery charge is non-refundable except in the unlikely event that the product is damaged or faulty.

Follow these simple steps:

  • Print and complete our returns form.
  • Send the completed form and product back to us using the printable return postal address label included in the form.
  • Please obtain a proof of posting certificate from the post office. If your parcel goes missing on the way back to us, we will need to obtain a copy of this to issue a refund or exchange. If proof of postage is not acquired and a parcel does go missing a refund or exchange will not be given.

If you would like to cancel your order please notify us in writing via post or email to (info@cottonandchintz.co.uk) within seven working days of receipt of your order (not including weekends or bank holidays), beginning the day after you receive your order. Products we’re unable to cancel, refund or exchange

Unless faulty, or not as described, we cannot refund or offer an exchange on:Fabric purchased that has either been cut into or already made up

  • Fabric purchased that has either been cut into or already made up in to curtains by yourself or a curtain maker. We suggest that you or your curtain maker check the fabric thoroughly for any damage or faults before doing so.
  • Made to Measure products – these items are made specifically for you, as they are cut specifically to your required size, so please ensure all measurements are accurate as we cannot accept liability for finished made to measure items that are made to your specific requirements. If you are unsure of your measurements, please contact us and our expert advisors will be happy to help.
  • Orders that received a fire-retardancy fabric treatment.

Damaged Products

If a product is damaged when it arrives with you, please do not accept or sign for the product and the courier will return it to us.
If you have signed for your delivery and later realise that the product is damaged, please inform us in writing via email (info@cottonandchintz.co.uk) within 48 hours of signing for the delivery and return it to us with a completed returns form. Please package the item securely and identify the damage and circumstances on the form.

We will refund any delivery costs along with the costs of the damaged products that are not being replaced (provided the above terms have been adhered to). Replacement products, if applicable, will be sent at no extra charge.

Faulty Products

If you think a product you have purchased may be faulty, please send it back to us with a completed returns form. Please clearly indicate the fault, and where it is located, on the returns form. If a product is found to be faulty, you will be issued with a replacement product, a credit for the appropriate amount or a refund where applicable. If the product is found not to be faulty, it will be returned to you and you may be responsible for costs incurred.

Incorrect Product Received

Occasionally the wrong product is sent out to customers. In this instance please accept our apologies and return it to us using the returns form.

In-Store Purchases

Please note products originally purchased from the Cotton and Chintz store can only be exchanged or refunded in the Cotton and Chintz store and not via the returns form.

The material displayed on this Website is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy. The construction, validity and performance of these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the Law of Scotland and the Scottish Courts shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction in any disputes between you and Cotton and Chintz Ltd.

As a reputable and trusted business committed to offering its customers high-quality products, Cotton and Chintz Ltd. recognises its obligation to ensure that suppliers are operating ethically. We expect our suppliers to consistently provide an environment which protects their employees’ health and safety and basic human rights.

All suppliers are expected to comply with their national employment laws and regulations with particular regard to:

  • Freely chosen employment
  • Health and safety
  • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
  • No discrimination
  • No harsh or inhumane treatment
  • Working hours
  • Rates of pay

Cotton and Chintz Ltd. will never knowingly source stock from countries which are in breach of the above principles. We also look to our suppliers to instil these principles when dealing with their own supplier base.

Because of the sometimes complex nature of our suppliers’ supply chain, it is not always possible to monitor and control the conditions of each individual involved in the production of our products.
